Mirror
One of the most popular dinghies of all times, this small one-design pram dinghy was designed in 1962 for home construction by the ‘stitch and glue” method and sponsored by the ‘Daily Mirror’.
The Mirror is a stable family boat which can be rowed or motored with four or five aboard and which is actively raced both two-up and single handed (with a PN of 1362 (SY)). It is an RYA approved youth class, many top sailors having started in Mirrors and became an International Class in 1 989.
The Mirror is easily recognised by her distinctive red sails, hard-chine hull and pram bow. She is now available in kit form or partly or fully completed in ply and/or grp. Ashore, the hull is light and easily handled, the gunter rig enabling the spars to be stowed inside the boat for ease of transport.
